Yellow Card Scheme 50th Anniversary Event
21st May 2015, Research Beehive, Newcastle University
This year is the 50th anniversary of the Yellow Card Scheme and the MHRA and RDTC have organised an event to celebrate this. The event provides the opportunity to tell prescribers and patients more about the scheme and encourage them to make appropriate reports, which would be a good thing for patient safety. A venue, date and provisional programme have been organised and details are attached.
Everyone is busy of course and it is always difficult to find time to get to meetings like this, but the Yellow Card Scheme is very important for patient safety and there are substantial geographical variations in reporting rates.
The event has some excellent speakers, including Sir Michael Rawlins, who is now Chair of the MHRA, having previously been Chair of NICE.
