Keep Antibiotics Working – 2018 Refresh

Posted on:

Public Health England have refreshed & relaunched the Keep Antibiotics Working Campaign for the 2018/19 autumn/winter season – to help front-line healthcare professionals educate the public about appropriate use of antibiotics.

The updated campaign uses the strap-line “Take Your Doctor or Nurse’s Advice on Antibiotics” and personalises messages about resistance, with the following statements:

  • Taking ANTIBIOTICS when you don’t need them encourages harmful bacteria that live inside you to become resistant.
  • That means that ANTIBTIOTICS may not work when you really need them.

The 2018/19 refresh includes TV, Radio and Press adverts and a social media campaign targeted at priority groups. Resources to support the campaign are available from the PHE Campaigns Website.
